Kochi: A 23-year-old trekker Babu was rescued by the army men from a crevice where he was stuck for 46 hours in Kurumpachi mountain in Malampuzha in Palakkad.
The Indian Army mountaineering team from Bengaluru and Ooty joined hands to rescue him meticulously. The Indian Air Force rescue team also extended its support.
Babu and three others had set out on a mountain adventure on Monday afternoon.
After trekking for some time his friends got exhausted and sat down for a break. But Babu continued his trekking solo. After reaching a one point he lost balance and tripped down and got stuck in the crevice.
He also suffered injuries. His friends alerted the police, fire and rescue and NDRF teams who failed to help him.
The matter was conveyed to the Chief Minister who sought the help of the Army.
