Kochi: Garment major Kitex would invest in Telangana in future as Kerala government has become industrially unfriendly, MD and chairman of kids apparel exporting firm has said. Speaking to reporters here on Monday Mr Sabu said that Kerala was lagging much behind others in terms of industry and manufacturing due to the wrong policies adopted by consecutive state governments. Sabu lashed out at the state Industry Ministry and its officials calling them ‘frogs living in an unused well (while other states in India were making a huge leap in terms of industrial growth)
He also said that Kitex would invest Rs 1000 crore in the first phase in Telangana. “Telangana has a dedicated textile park spread over 1,200 acres. Telangana government has offered a number of attractive infrastructure facilities including uninterrupted power supply and water. There are also attractive offers flowing in from other states and there are plans to invest in those states as well. It was a painful decision to drop the mega apparel project of Rs 3,500 meant for Kerala due to the non-corporation of the state government and its officials,” he added.
