Kochi: CPM leaders K K Ragesh and M V Jayarajan have flayed the Congress-led government’s decision to seek a CBI probe into the death of Naveen Babu who was found dead in mysterious circumstances in 2024.
Ragesh, who was the Private Secretary of
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, asked is the Chief Minister V D Satheesan above the Kerala High Court’s and Supreme Court which had earlier rejected the plea for CBI investigation?
Questioning Satheesan’s more trust in CBI than state police, Ragesh who is Secretary of CPM Kannur district exhorted people to ponder over it seriously.
Jayarajan described the move as a “political witch-hunt.”
The Congress-led government had decided to recommend a CBI probe Naveen Babu’s widow, who is also a senior government official, met Chief Minister V D Satheesan and sought a CBI probe which the previous Left Government had rejected in 2024.
