Kochi: The ICC T20 World Cup 2024 winnersheaded by skipper Rohit Sharma were greeted by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi at New Delhi on Thursday, media reports said.
Modi took breakfast with the team members, BCCI president Roger Binny, secretary Jay Shah and others.
The team returned home by Air India special charter flight after remaining stranded in Barbados for three days due to a hurricane on Thursday, media reports said.
The team will attend a road show in an open bus from Nariman Point in the evening. They will be felicitated at the Wankhede Stadium. India defeated South Africa by seven runs in the final at Kensington Oval in Barbados on Saturday.
Head coach Rahul Dravid, Jasprit Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya spoke during the meeting. BCCI secretary Jay Shah, president Roger Binny were present.
