Kochi: In a major blow to the BJP in Kerala, popular BJP leader Sandeep Varrier migrated to the Congress today saying he was feeling suffocated in the Saffron party.
The move has come as a big blow to the party
ahead of Palakkad byelection.
It has also exposed BJP central leadership’s failure to impose discipline in the Kerala unit.
Sandeep was received by Congress leaders in Palakkad.
Addressing a press cinference, KPCC president K Sudhakaran and Opposition Leader V D Satheeshan welomed Varrier into the party.
Sudhakaran said Congress will benefit immensely due to his entry into the party which had high expectations from him.
Addressing the media, he blamed BJP state president K Surendran and his team for flushing him out of the party.
Sandeep flayed the BJP depriving him the freedom of expression and democracy and was suspended for one year for making his point on the social media.
There were rumours of Sandeep planning to join CPM or CPI as he was associated with the left movement during his college days.
