Shwetha gets relief from court

Kochi: In a major victory for Actor Shwetha Menon, a city court ruled in favour of Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (A.M.M.A) Chief Shweta Menon and her team by ruling the ad hoc committee null and void.
Hearing a petition filed by Shwetha, Ernakulam Munsiff Court observed that there is no provision for such a committee in the AMMA bylaws.
The court ruled that the committee can continue administration of the association, and warned the ad hoc committee against interfering with or questioning their authority.
The court issued notice to Ramesh Pisharody, MLA, who headed the ad hoc committee formed during the general body meeting held on June 21.
The court issued an interim injunction, stating that the ad hoc committee was constituted without any provision in the AMMA bylaws authorising such a body.
Association Of Malayalam Movie Artists
(A.M.M.A) executive committee had witnessed unrest during it’s meeting
on June 21 due to unrest in the outfit over various issues including alleged financial misappropriation.
Shweta was elected in August 2025.
