ED ends questioning Sonia

Kochi: Questioning of Congress president Sonia Gandhi by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with the National Herald money laundering case at New Delhi ended today.

Sonia Gandhi was questioned for eleven hours in the last three days. She was allowed to meet Priyanka Gandhi in the middle of questioning.

Sonia Gandhi fully cooperated with the questioning and she was given all privileges of her ill health. She has not been asked to appear in the coming days.

Meanwhile, Congress leaders protested across the country accusing the union Government of misusing central agencies.
Opposition Leader V D Satheeshan, senior 
Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala and many others were detained in Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala while taking a protest march to the Raj Bhavan against the central government.

The Congress’ publication was founded by the late Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru in 1938 and grew into an institution worth Rs 5,000 crore.

The present case relates to Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, Motilal Vora owning it as its directors under the banner Young India by clearing a Rs 90 crore loan taken from Congress party.

The case surfaced after Dr Subramanian Swamy filed a case of money laundering against Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi in 2012.
