Kochi: St Mary’s Higher Secondary School, Kaliyar, lifted the Idukki district inter school sub junior football event organised as part of the Paris Olympics Day celebration at Thodupuzha Soccer School in Thodupuzha.
St George Higher Secondary School, Kallanikkal, was the runner up in the event participated by eight schools.
Idukki district sports council and district olympic association organised it under the auspices of TPS.
Earlier, Dronacharya K P Thomas inaugurated olympics day events at TPS the other day.
Kerala olympic association vice president and Idukki district olympics association ad hoc committee chaIrman Dr Prince K Mattathil presided over the public meeting.
TSS director and former Santosh trophy player P A Saleem Kutty was present.
Office Bearers of various sports outfits Shyjan Stephen, Sharath U Nair, Tomy Joseph Kunnel, Baby Varghese, N Raveendran, P A Rafeeq, Moammad Basheer, Jose Pulikkan, Sajeev M S Abraham, Babu antony, Noble Jose, Alvin Jose, Rony George Sabu of different soports associations were present.
Different sports events were organised at different places.
Sub Collector Dr Arun S Nair will flag off a marathon attended by 500 persons from Brahmins junction in Thodupuzha at 8am on June 23. It will culminate at TSS.
Public meeting organised as part of marathon will inaugurated by Idukki district panchayat president K T Binu.
Thodupuzha municipality president Saneesh George will preside.
Idukki district sports council president Romeo Sebastian will deliver the keynote address.
