Kochi: Former Union Minister K C Venugopal was questioned by the CBI in New Delhi in connection with the solar rape case.
The complainant told CBI that the incident took place in May 2012. She alleged that Venugopal, who is a Rajya Sabha member now, raped her in the house of the then Kerala state minister A P Anil Kumar of UDF. The case was earlier probed by the Kerala Crime branch.
It is almost eight months since the CBI started the probe. The first evidence collection was held at Thiruvananthapuram.
Venugopal has been questioned thrice in the case. The recent questioning is based on the digital evidence submitted by the complainant to CBI.
The case pertains to a fraud case in the name of making investments in Solar projects in which the accused alleged that many politicians abused her, promising to do favour for her solar project.
