Kochi: P V Sindhu won the Singapore Open 2022 badminton tournament beating China’s Wang Zhi Yi 21-9, 11-21, 21-15 on Sunday.
Two times Olympics medalist, Sindhu thrashed Wang in the first match 21-9, but could not maintain the tempo in the second one which she lost 11-21. However, she became more serious in the third set which she won without much difficulty.
Earlier, Sindhu outplayed Japan’s Saena Kawakami 21-15, 21-07 in the semi finals.
This is Sindhu’s third win in the season as she had won Syed Modi International and Swiss Open BWF Super 300.
