Kochi: A total of 157 cases were registered, 170 arrested and 368 persons taken into preventive custody for violence carried out during the PFI hartal in Kerala called to protest against the arrest of its leaders by the NIA.
Kottayam topped with 87 arrests, Wayanad 22 and Malapuram only 19. The areas with zero arrest recorded were Kollam City, Alappuzha, Idukki, Thrissur city, Thrissur rural, Palakkad, Kozhikode city and Kozhikode rural among others, media reports said.
Malappuram topped with 118 preventive detentions, Kannur city 49, Palakkad 34, Kasargod 28 among others.
As far as cases were registered, Kannur city topped with 28, Thiruvananthapuram city 12, Thiruvananthapuram Rural, Kollam rural and Ernakulam rural had 10 each.
