Kochi: Encroachment in the tourism destination of Parunthumpara in Idukki district has been detected by a High Court constituted team, Asianet News reported.
The team has submitted the details of the investigation before the High Court, the reports said.
The encroachment is believed to be the largest recorded in the district.
According to the special investigation team no action was taken by the revenue department and police against the accused.
The encroachments were done In connivance with village officials, taluk officials, surveyors and others.
Earthmovers were used to bulldoze hills and meadows. Roads were constructed bulldozing mountains. Rocks from the revenue land used to divide land plots, the reports said.
