Kochi: At least 11 people were killed and many injured today in a function held to celebrate RCB winning the IPL finals after 18 years, media reports said.
The incident happened near Bengaluru’s Chinnaswamy Stadium.
The celebrations had erupted across Bengaluru after the
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) had won their maiden IPL title after an agonising 18-year wait at Ahmedabad.
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah was to honour RCB players.
The injured were admitted to different hospitals including the Bowring and Lady Curzon Hospital.
Police used mild force as they struggled to control the situation.
