Bangkok bar fire kills 27

Kochi: A massive blaze in a bar in Bangkok late on Sunday killed 27 people and left eight critically injured.
The blaze started near the stage of the bar and then spread rapidly engulfing the room with smoke in Chatuchak district, BBC reported.
Firefighters arrived after midnight and quickly extinguished the fire.
They found the bodies of most of the victims in a bathroom, where they had apparently sought shelter.
Preliminary investigations suggest the fire could have been caused by an electrical short circuit in an air conditioner.
This is not the first time such an incident has occured in Thailand.
Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul quoting a musician said”there was blasting and everybody tried to flee from the smoke and flames”.
In 2022, a fire in a bar in a town south of Bangkok, killed 22 people, on 1 January in 2009, 66 people died in a nightclub fire in the capital and in 2024, a fire started by an electrical short circuit in the famous open-air Chatuchak market killed 1,000 animals
