Wife held for murder

Kochi: A newly wed woman of Indore killed her husband Raja Raghuvanshi, 29, while celebrating their honeymoon at Meghalaya, media reports said.
The accused Sonam, 25, surrendered before the police and confessed to her role in the crime, Meghalaya Director General of Police (DGP) I Nongrang said on Monday.
She surrendered before the police in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, while police arrested three other accused during overnight operations in UP and Indore, the DGP added.
Nongrang said the arrested men said they were hired by Raghuvanshi’s wife to carry out the murder. Sangma praised the police for nabbing the accused. Efforts are on to nab one more assailant, he said.
The couple reached Meghalaya on May 23.

Raja’s body was found inside a deep gorge near Weisawdong Falls on June 4. A rented scooter was found abandoned on May 24 near a cafe along the Shillong–Sohra road.
A new machete used by the suspects was recovered by the East Khasi Hills.

Three more suspects, all men, were arrested in overnight raids—two from Indore and one from UP. The accused reportedly confessed to the murder-for-hire plot during interrogation.
National Disaster Response Force, State Disaster Response Force, SRT, Fire and Emergency Services, Special Operations Team, Special Investigation Team, and local volunteers took part in the operation.
The CCTV footage showed the couple checking out of a hotel in Meghalaya shortly before their mysterious disappearance.
