Kochi: A Thiruvananthapuram- New Delhi Air India aircraft with many political leaders made an emergency landing at Chennai due to technical snags on Sunday, media reports said.
MPs K C Venugopal, UDF Convenor Adoor Prakash, Kodikunnil Suresh, of Congress and K Radhakrishnan, CPM, Robert Bruce were on board.
There were reports of the aircraft having a close shave with another aircraft on the runway.
Sources indicated that a technical snag in the aircraft’s radar system was the initial reason for the diversion.
Airport officials are yet to respond.
