Kochi: Congress-led front is claiming credit for its commendable victory in Kerala Assembly polls forgetting the fact that the Left had lost after 10 years’ rule due to The Congress-led front did not have much to do as the outgoing Pinarayi Vijayan government had kicked a self goal on many occasions during the one decade governance which includes allegations of CMRL scam against Pinarayi’s daughter Veena, the Sabarimala temple gold robbery allegations and the likes.
Outburst by a few rebel party leaders like G Sudhakaran, V Kunhikrishnan, T K Govindan went in favour of the Congress as all these leaders contested as independent candidates backed by Congress.
But the real threat for Congress has started after the ouster of CPM-led Left front as the similar thing had happened in West Bengal where Mamta Banerjee ousted CPM once for all in and now her All India Trinamool Congress is struggling to bear the onslaught of the BJP.
Despite writing over the wall, the Congress continues to remain unchanged with each group leader claiming credit for the party’s victory.
