Kochi: Saudi Arabia to shut down a critical oil pipeline which was hit in a drone attack from Iraqi territory giving speculation to retaliation by Riyadh.Saudi has shut down the East-West pipeline giving indications to further disruption in energy supplies even as the global price of oil briefly jumped to about $110 a barrel, NY Times reported.The pipeline was vital to shuttling oil from the Persian Gulf to the Red Sea.Earlier, Iran backed Houthi militia had seized a strategic Red Sea island and a port city, which could further choke shipping in the area. Worries over diminishing energy supplies have prompted governments and consumers to cut back on their use.
