Kochi: Outstanding bowling by Mohammad Shami helped India bounce back to beat Australia by six runs despite unfavourable conditions in the warm-up match for T20 World Cup at Gabba in Brisbane in Australia today. Despite losing the toss and asking to bat first, India scored 186 for 7. K L Rahul made 57 in 33 balls hitting three sixes and six fours.
Suryakumar Yadav made 50 with one six and six boundaries. Dinesh Karthik contributed 20. For Australia, Richardson took four wickets while Starc, Maxwell, Agar and David claimed one each. Starting confidently, Australia smashed India bowlers all across the ground and were inching towards the target when they started losing wickets. Finch made a valuable 76, Marsh 35 and Maxel 23. Shami took three wickets for just four runs, B Kumar took two wickets. A Singh, H Patel, Y Chahal took one each.
