Kochi: A court on Monday convicted three persons in connection with 2016 Kollam Collectorate blast case in Kerala.
The District Principal Sessions Court convicted Abbas Ali (31), Shamsoon Karim Raja (33), and Davood Sulaiman(27) hailing from Madurai in Tamil Nadu.
The court will announce the sentence on Tuesday.
It was on June 15, 2016, the convicts detonated an explosive in a jeep near the Chief Judicial Magistrate Court complex.
The convicts are allegedly members of the Base Movement, an outfit reportedly linked to al-Qaeda. The outfit was responsible for low-intensity explosions, including the one at the Malappuram Collectorate.
There were five accused, one of them, Muhammad Ayoob, turned approver.
The prosecution examined 63 witnesses, presented 119 documents, and submitted 24 pieces of evidence.
