Kochi: The Directorate of Enforcement (ED) has informed the High Court of Kerala CPM workers had plotted to kill their sleuths during a raid in connection with a money laundering case against Kerala Opposition Leader Pinarayi Vijayan’s daughter Veena T on May 27.
Opposing the bail pleas of the accused, the ED told the High Court of Kerala that “The attack on government officials while discharging their duties was pre-planned, with the intention of causing death by using dangerous weapons.”
It said the people surrounded the vehicles, shouted exhortations to kill the officers, pelted stones, damaged government vehicles, and assaulted ED officials, CRPF personnel, and police officers, the New Indian Express reported.
According to the ED, the object of the unlawful assembly was to obstruct a lawful investigation, deter public servants from discharging their statutory functions, and intimidate investigating officers.
