Kochi: The ‘Metro Man’ E Sreedharan was honoured with the George Fernandes Memorial National Award 2024 for his contributions for executing the Konkan rail project.
The award, given by Jayashreekrishna Parisara Premi Samiti, NGO, was conferred on Sreedharan by (capt) Brijesh Chowla, MP, at Mumbai the other day.The function was presided over by L V Amin, President of Jayashreekrishna Parisara Premi Samiti.
The Samithi Founder Jayakrishna Shetty, Former Karnataka Minister Narayana Gowda, Ex MP Gopal Shetty were among those present.The 92-year-old Sreedharan has made immense contributions in Indian Railways, Delhi Metro, Kochi Metro among others.
