Kochi: India entered the finals of the ICC ODI world cup beating New Zealand by 70 runs in the first semi finals at Mumbai today.
India won the toss and decided to bat first. The hosts made 397 losing 4 wickets. Virat Kohli made 117, Shreyas Iyer 105 and Gill 80.
Captain Rohit Sharma made a valuable 47.
For the visitors, Southee took three wickets and Boult one.
Chasing a target of 398 runs, New Zealand were all out for 327 in 48.5 overs.
Mitchell made 134 runs and captain Williamson 69.
Mohammad Shami took 7 wickets giving away only 57 runs.
India will play the finals against the winners of the Australia-South Africa match at Ahmedabad on November 19.
