Kochi: Pakistan former captain Inzamam ul Haq is in pain over Virat Kohli’s family facing the ire for failing in the World cup matches and appealed to Pakistanis to have the heart to endure defeats.
The threat issued to Kohli’s baby through social media for India’s poor show in the T20 is condemnable, he said.
In his youtube channel, he said people should understand that cricket is a game and the players represent different countries. But they are part of society. People have the right to criticise Kohli’s captaincy or his batting. But no one has the right to get personal. Similar attack on social media platforms had occurred against pacer Mohammad Shami after India’s loss to Pakistan.
Win and loss is part of the game and people should see it like that. He said the match between India and New Zealand was more crucial compared to the one with Pakistan. Haq said that he was shocked by the manner India played its matches. He said it was beyond his capacity to understand how a quality team like India could fumble like this. It was shocking to see Kohli trying to steal a run to save the non-striker at the end of the over, Haq said.
