Kochi: Left Government in Kerala blundered in managing public money during 2024-25, The Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) report has said. The report brought to light misuse of the Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund (CMDRF) in Kerala. Expressing concerns over the Kerala Infrastructure Investment Fund, the report preserd in Kerala Assembly described it as a major liability.
According to the report, ₹262.06 crore was transferred from the Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund to the Consolidated Fund, Mathrubhumi reported.The diversion was made to reduce the reported revenue deficit, thereby presenting a lower revenue shortfall in the state’s accounts.It expressed concerns over the State’s off-budget borrowings which stood at ₹39,230 crore.The state had undefined liabilities of ₹3,511 crore.The state’s Gross Domestic Product growth rose from 9.3 per cent to 9.97 per cent while revenue growth was at 0.3 per cent.
