Kochi: At Least 12 bus crew, including seven drivers, of private buses were taken into custody after they were found inebriated in Thrissur today.
Five conductors were also apprehended for being under the influence of alcohol during the raid, media reports said.
The buses have been impounded and the police are going to seek cancellation of the licences of the drivers.
The drive against erring bus workers from about 6 am to 7.30 am.
The action was taken following complaints against bus crew by the public. The raids were held in Vadakke stand and Shakthan stand.
A recent accident involving a bus had invited criticisms against the police for not taking action against bus crew.
