Kochi: Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s daughter Veena T has moved the Karnataka High Court against the probe initiated by the Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) against her now defunct IT company Exalogic Solutions, media reports said.
The writ petition has prayed to the court to stay the ongoing investigation by the SFIO into allegations against the Exalogic for getting remuneration of Rs 1.72 crore from Kochi-based controversial CMRL for not providing any service.
The Ministry of Corporate Affairs had ordered the probe on January 31 after BJP leader and lawyer Shone George moved the Kerala High Court seeking a probe into the affairs of CMRL and Veena’s outfit under the Companies Act.
During a raid at CMRL in 2019, the Income Tax department got evidence of CMRL paying money to Exalogic and different sections including leaders of political parties. The CMRL is involved in mining minerals like ilmenite from Kerala coast causing environmental degradation like sea erosion.
Exalogic Solutions Pvt Ltd (opc) was incorporated on September 19, 2014 as a private company with authorized capital at Rs 1 lakhs and has 100 % paid-up capital of Rs 1 lakh. Its last annual general meet was held on May 29, 2018, the reports said.
