Kochi: The Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) CMD Biju Prabhakar has sought permission to quit the organisation following differences with the new Transport Minister K B Ganesh Kumar, media reports said. The Chairman and Managing Director has indicated this in his letter submitted to the Chief Secretary. Biju, who has gone on leave, plans to relinquish the Transport Secretary post.
Chief Minister Pinrayi Vijayan will take a final decision. About two years back, the total outstanding financial liability of KSRTC was over Rs 3,430 crore. Out of this, a lion share of Rs 3,043 crore was due for a consortium of major banks which had given loans to KSRTC on different occasions.
