NHAI aims to create world record

Kochi: Only 108 hours to build 75-km Amravati – Akola highway in Maharashtra is the target of the National Highway to beat record holder Qatar to enter the Guinness Book of World Records.
The work started on June 3 and should end by June 7 if NHAI wants to break the record of building 25 km of road in 242 hours by Public Works Authority Ashgul in Doha, Qatar, media reports said.
The Guinness Book representatives are monitoring the work.
Armed with a maximum of 1000 workers and high efficiency machines, the Pune-based contractor Rajpath Infracon is using bituminous concrete for work.
The group have well-equipped team of Quality Control Engineers and Safety Officers. A well-equipped laboratory as per the norms of
the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is monitoring the work, media reports said.
A number of squads comprising project managers, engineers to take care of highways, quality and safety have been dedicated to take care of different sections.
A management think tank and war room are operating.
Rajpath Infracon is planning to dedicate the highway to the nation on the occasion of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.
