Kochi: Kochi Metro is all set to add two more stations to its list of 22 halts as soon as it extends its operations up to S N Junction in Tripunithura.
The two new stations to join the metro network are Vadakkekotta and S N Junction.
At present the metro operates services from Aluva to Petta.
The railway safety commissioner has given clearance for operating trains upto S N Junction.
The inspection in the 1.8 km Petta to S N Junction was conducted for three days from June 9.
The work in the section started in October 2019 at a total of Rs 453 crore out of which Rs 99 crore was used for acquiring land.
This sector has the biggest station at Vadakkekotta in the entire stretch with 4.3 lakh square feet. S N Junction has 95,000 square feet out of which 29,300 is for commercial purposes.
Work on S N Junction to Tripunithura railway station is on and is expected to be over by June 2023.
