Kochi: Former bureaucrat M Sivasankar was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Tuesday in connection with the LIFE Mission case.
Former principal secretary of Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, Sivasankaran was questioned for about long hours by the ED since Tuesday morning before arresting him, media reports said.
The case involves alleged violation of foreign contribution regulations in the Life Mission aimed at providing shelter to the poor at Wadakkanchery in Thrissur.
This is the second case in which the former bureaucrat is arrested by ED. Sivasankar and others allegedly made undue monetary gains in the form of kickbacks in awarding the contract for building the houses.
