Kochi: Pakistan entered the finals of the T20 World Cup beating New Zealand by seven wickets at Sydney in Australia today.
The finals will be held on Sunday when Pakistan will play the winners of the match between India and England to be played tomorrow in the second semi finals.
Earlier, New Zealand won the toss and decided to bat first. The Kiwis were unfortunate to lose wickets early and at crucial junctures. Mitchell made a valuable 53 and captain Williamson 46 to post a good total of 152 for four. For Pakistan, Afridi took two wickets and Nawaz one.
Pakistan began its innings in an aggressive manner by making bit hits to gain psychological edge over the Kiwis who showed all signs of desperation as the match progressed.
For the winners, Rizwan hit 57, Captain Babar Azam 53 and Haris 30. New Zealand’s Boult took two wickets and Santner one.
