Kochi: A terminated motor vehicle department
official Kiran Kumar was convicted by a court for the death of his wife Vismaya V Nair in dowry related case in Kollam in 2021.
The Kollam Additional Session Court -I has reserved the sentence for Tuesday.
An ayurveda medical student, Vismaya, 22, was found dead in her husband’s house
within a year of her marriage in June last year. Kiran, who was arrested a day after the incident, got bail from the Supreme Court after a year.
Digital evidence helped the investigation team to crack the case.
A total of 42 witnesses, 108 documents and call records were produced before the court.
The police submitted a 507-page charge sheet claiming that Vismaya had committed suicide due to dowry harassment.
Kiran Kumar has been convicted under Sections 304 (B), 498 (A) and 306.
