P V Gangadharan passes away

Kochi: Noted filmmaker and media entrepreneur P V Gangadharan, 80, passed away at Kozhikode today, media reports said.
Gangadharan was ailing for sometime and was in hospital. The funeral will be held on Saturday evening. P V Sherien is wife and Shenuga Jaythilak, Shegna Vigil and Sherga Sandeep children.
Gangadharan, who was born to Madhavi Sami and businessman P V Sami in 1943, was younger brother of P V Chandran, managing editor of Mathrubhumi media group.
He ventured into the film industry in 1977 and made hits like Sujatha, Manasa Vacha Karmana, Angadi, Ahimsa, Chiriyo Chiri, Kattathe Kilikkoodu, Vartha, Oru Vadakkan Veeragatha, Kanakkinavu, Veendum Chila Veettukaryangal, Achuvinte Amma and Notebook.
He was associated with the Congress. He served as the head of the Malabar Chamber of Commerce, an organisation representing industrialists in North Kerala. Gangadharan was vice-president of Paris based International Federation of Film Producers’ Associations.
