Kochi: With the situation going out of control, the Kerala Fisheries Minister Saji Cherian denied making any derogatory remarks against the country’s constitution.
Claiming that his statement was misinterpreted by the media, he told the Assembly that if his statement was given a different meaning other than what he had intended, then he was highly regretfull and apologetic.
The Opposition protested over it and boycotted the session.
Later, talking to reporters he said that he had never disregarded the constitution.
He also refused to quit saying that he had not done anything wrong.
Saju Cherian had allegedly criticised the Constitution of the country in harsh language.
Meanwhile, Youth Congress protested in Chengannur seeking his resignation.
