Protests continue against Pinarayi

Kochi: There seems to be no respite for Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan from statewide protests seeking his resignation after a gold smuggling case accused alleged  the complicity of Pinarayi and his near ones in the case.
Unmindful of all the protests, Pinarayi is continuing with his scheduled programmes causing immense inconvenience to the common man.
Long hours of roadblocks, traffic regulations, ban on use of black masks among other things have made public life miserable in the last few days since the accused Swapna Suresh made the allegations.
He encountered black flag protests in his stronghold of Kannur where KSU, Youth Congress, Muslim League, Yuva Morcha volunteers flashed black flag while he was moving in his car to different places.
At Least 700 police men were deployed for his security.
Thirty persons were detained at different places for protesting against him.
There were reports of Congress’ students outfit KSU Kannur district vice president Farhan being beaten up by CPM workers for protesting against Pinarayi in front of Police.
The 30 kg gold smuggling case worth Rs 14.82 crore was busted in 2020. A former UAE consulate employee and Kerala State IT department consultant Swapna Suresh was held as a prime accused for using diplomatic channels to smuggle. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s then Principal Secretary M Sivasankaran was a suspect in the case.
