Truss quits

Kochi: The UK Premier Liz Truss resigned saying that she could not deliver the mandate on which she was elected, media reports said.
Remaining in the post for 45 days, Truss becomes the shortest serving Prime Minister in the history of the country.
The country should get a new Prime Minister by Friday amidst the country facing serious financial crises.
As the chancellor Jeremy Hunt has ruled out taking the responsibility, the next two who are likely to run for the post are Indian origin Rishi Sunak and Penny Mordaunt.
Former Premier Borris Johnson could also be a contender. The next general election is due in 2025.
Truss was elected head of the Conservative Party following which she took over as the Prime Minister on September 6.
