Kochi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) nabbed a key accused allegedly involved in an international conspiracy to establish an Islamic caliphate in India, media reports said.
Aziz Ahamed (alias) Aziz Ahmed alias Jaleel Aziz Ahmed was arrested while trying to flee abroad from Bengaluru international airport on Friday.
The NIA has registered cases against six accused influenced by the fundamental ideology of a pan-Islamist and fundamentalist organisation Hizb-ut-Tahrir to establish an Islamic caliphate and enforce the constitution written by its founder Taqi al-Din al-Nabhani.
