Kochi: A huge quantity of explosives was seized from a car in Rajasthan on New Year eve on Wednesday, Times of India reported.
Around 150 kg of ammonium nitrate, 200 explosive batteries and 1,100 meters of wire were seized from the car on the Tonk–Jaipur highway during a special vehicle-checking on the Tonk–Jaipur highway.
Two men travelling in the vehicle were detained for questioning.
Explosives were hidden in sacks of urea seized.
Recovery of about 3000 kgs explosives from doctors in Faridabad between November 8 and 10 and subsequent blast triggered by a doctor in New Delhi on November 10 killing 15 persons has sent intelligence agencies into high alert.
