Ruckus in Thiruvananthapuram Corporation

Kochi: Thiruvananthapuram Corporation witnessed ruckus on Monday after Congress, LDF protested over inability to sign attendance register.
The business started with Mayor V V Rajesh, Kerala Government permitting the display of Pradhan Manthri Awas Yojana (PMAY) logo in front of the houses.
Rajesh rushed through the agenda items amid the sloganeering and announced the end of the council meeting.When the meeting ended, the LDF, UDF
protested leading to a scuffle between BJP and UDF councillors led by its leader K S Sabarinadhan.
The UDF councillors alleged that they were not allowed to sign the attendance book.
The BJP’s strength in the council is 50 with one member R Sugathan incarcerated under CAPA charges. While the BJP has the backing of an Independent MLA, the Congress is campaigning to disqualify Sugathan.
BJP councillor Sugathan was arrested under the Kerala Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act (KAAPA).
