Kochi: The death toll in the rains have so far claimed 12 lives in the last two days in Kerala.
A total of four people died today.
Eight persons are reported missing while persons are being treated for injuries in accidents triggered by heavy downpour.
Twentyseven houses were destroyed and 196 partially damaged. A total of 5,792 people were shifted to the 209 relief camps set up across the state.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for 12 districts in Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, and Kasargod districts.
