HC grants bail to 9 CPM workers

Kochi: The High Court of Kerala on Monday granted bail to nine Left activists accused of
attacking Directorate of Enforcement sleuths
while collecting evidence against Opposition Leader Pinarayi Vjayan’s daughter Veena T in a money laundering case on May 27.
Kiran P S., Jeevan, Anil Kumar, Sreejith, Nishad, Siddharth S, Shefeek, Nandhu G R, Rahul A Rajan were granted bail by the court which will consider bail pleas of Lenin Raj, Amal S.P., Vaisakh, Rahul) tomorrow, Live Law.in reported.
The investigation officers are yet to produce incriminating articles used for the alleged crime, the court said, adding that the allegations are very serious. The accused are in custody for the last 67 days..
According to the prosecution, at least 300 people allegedly attacked ED officials’ vehicles using stones, bricks, sticks and rods when they were going out of Pinarayi’s house after completing the raids.
The Museum Police had booked the accused under sections 189(2), 191(2), 190, 126(2), 296(b), 132, 121(1), 118(1) and 109 of BNS and under section 3(1) of Prevention of Damage to public Property Act.
