Kochi: The Atal Setu, Mumbai Trans Harbour Sealink (MTHL), which is the country’s longest sea bridge, is paying rich dividends as there is overwhelming response from the public, media reports said.
Opened on Saturday, a total of 8,169 vehicles used the bridge on day one, albeit, some users finding Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority’s (MMRDA) toll on the higher side, the reports said.
The speed limit on the bridge is 100 kmph and vehicles are not allowed to stop and click pictures.
A monthly pass for a car is Rs 12,500 for using the Trans Harbour link that will help in a big way to reduce traffic congestion on the Vashi and Airoli bridges, the crucial connections between Mumbai and Navi Mumbai.
While one way toll fee is Rs 250, to and fro trip is subsidized at Rs 375.
