Kochi: Senior government pleader of the Kerala High Court P G Manu resigned after a sexual abuse case was registered against him, media reports said.
The resignation was submitted to the Advocate General after he was booked on the basis of a complaint of a 25-year-old woman who accused him of sexually abusing her when she visited him seeking legal help in a harassment case of 2018.
The complainant accused the lawyer of sexually abusing her on October 9, 2023, when she had approached him to discuss the harassment case in his Kadavantra office with her parents.
Thereafter she was abused a number of times by the lawyer by threatening to turn the harassment case against her.
The woman lodged the complaint to Ernakulam Rural Superintendent Police. The case was forwarded to Chottanikkara police station which has booked Manu under various sections of the IPC, the reports said.
