Kochi: Kerala University Vice Chancellor has defied the Governor’s ultimatum to identify a senate member by today for the search committee formed to select the new Vice Chancellor of the University.
The VC has written a letter along with the resolution of the senate which said the Governor’s decision to set up the search committee was unilateral.
Following this the Governor had directed the Vice Chancellor to suggest the name by today.
The Vice Chancellor said that the Governor had fixed the deadline without considering the letter written by the Vice Chancellor citing the resolution of the senate rejecting the Governor’s search committee.
The Governor has said everything is in accordance with the norms. The appointment had to be done before the end of the term of the Vice Chancellor on September 24.
