Kochi: The actor assault case victim has appealed to the Chief Minister to order a further probe into the case in the wake of the resignation of two prosecutors and new revelations made by a director against Dileep.
Expressing fear over the dilution of the case, she said the disclosure made by director Balachandra Kumar against Dileep is a serious matter and should be probed into, she said in the letter to the chief minister, media reports said.
She said that she would approach the DGP in this regard. Police have also favoured further probe and sought suspension of the hearing of the case but the court has not acted on it.
She alleged that the court was acting in a biased manner. She said the case relating to the crime, which occurred on February 17, 2017, was being dragged on unnecessarily.
The Woman in Cinema Collective (WCC) has also demanded further investigation into the case.
According to the chargesheet Dillep had hired Pulsar Suni to abduct and sexual assault the actor in a moving vehicle. Dileep, who had spent three months in jail, was released on bail.
It may be recalled that Balachandra Kumar, who has already approached the Chief Minister against Dileep, claimed that he had seen the accused Pulsar Suni with Dileep on December 26, 2016.
Kumar’s two other allegations against Dileep are that the actor was in possession of the sexual assault video and that Dileep had tried to influence a witness.
