Kochi: In a major relief to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), the Supreme Court granted bail to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.A division bench of the court said “prolonged incarceration amounts to unjust deprivation of liberty”.He was arrested by the CBI in June in connection with the alleged liquor excise policy case.Earlier, he had secured bail in the case filed by the Enforcement Directorate. However, he is barred from going to his office or the Delhi Secretariat, or signing files without Delhi Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena’s consent. Kejriwal had challenged the CBI’s arrest which came days after the trial court in Delhi granted him bail in the ED case.
