TN Govt begins probe on boozing in school

Kochi: Students allegedly boozing inside their school in Thuckalay in Kanyakumari district in Tamil Nadu has embarrassed the state government.
The district administration has shifted the principal of Thuckalay Government Higher Secondary School as part of preliminary action, media reports said.
The matter surfaced through social media where the video reportedly recorded after special coaching classes for competitive examinations spread like a wildfire.
A group of students inside a classroom were seen holding bottles and packets of snacks.
The School also functions as a coaching centre for entrance examinations such as NEET, QEET and JEE.
According to preliminary information, special classes were conducted on Saturday, August 1, and many students attended them.
The principal Pramila Evangeline was transferred to Vadassery Government Higher Secondary School in Nagercoil.
The authorities are probing the veracity of the video.
