Kochi: It is Big B’s birthday today. The evergreen actor Amitabh Bachchan, who turns 80, is as active and enthusiastic as he was while working in his maiden hit film Zanjeer.
His decision to quit a petty job in Calcutta to try his luck in films was the turning point in his life. It all started when he lent his voice as a narrator in Mrinal Sen’s Bhuvan Shome in 1969.
A year later he became a household name for his super hit movies Zanjeer, Deewaar, Sholay, Kabhie Kabhie, Amar Akbar Anthony, Parvarish, Don, Mr Natarwal, Muqaddar ka Sikandar, Silsila, Dostana, and the like.
The Angry Young Man’s brief stint in politics and business ventures were the dark chapters in his life as he was rendered a pauper. Bouncing back through Yash Chopra’s Mohabbatein and TV game show Kaun Banega Crorepati, Big B is busy in all fields he is involved in.
Winner of countless awards including Dadasaheb Phalke Award, the world is wishing him all the best and looking forward more performances from him in future.
