Kochi: An unbeaten 71 by Bhanuka Rajapaksa and 36 by Hasaranga helped Sri Lanka to beat formidable rival Pakistan by 23 runs to lift the Asia Cup title in the finals in Dubai International Stadium tonight.
Put into bat by Pakistan,Sri Lanka made 170 for six even as it lost quick wickets in the early stages. De Silva’s 28 also proved crucial for the winners.
Chasing the target of 171, Pakistan were all out for 147. Rizwan made 55 and Ahmed 32.
For Sri Lanka, Madhushan took four, Hasaranga three, Karunaratne two and Theekshana one. For Pakistan, Rauf claimed three wickets.
